As director of program operations, I actively manage, lead, cultivate and maximize the effective usage of systems, processes, initiatives, and technology for all Chautauqua Institution content programs (Arts, Education, Religion, and Recreation). My role is to foster efficient, unified, and collaborative planning cycles and establish cross-functional timelines, structures, workflows and communications – within Program and between non-Program departments/colleagues – to continuously advance the operational and strategic components integral to the department’s success within the context of the Institution’s 150 Forward Strategic Plan.
In my previous roles as the managing director of performing and visual arts and the managing director for Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, I provided senior leadership in operations, finance, and artistic administration. The focus of this role was to transform artistic vision into institutional strategies and operating plans for orchestra, popular entertainment, theater, opera, dance, visual arts, and educational programs. Before coming to the Institution (2011-2015), I was the assistant artistic administrator for the Aspen Music Festival and School in Aspen, Colorado. I oversaw all day-to-day operations of the artistic administration department at one of the country’s premier classical music festivals that presents over 300 concerts and 120 guest artists each year.
