DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Friends of CVA\, Art in the Park is an open art fair with 70+ vendors held in Miller Park\, showcasing art by members of the Chautauqua community\, artists-in-residence from the School of Art\, and artisans from the region around Chautauqua Institution. Items for sale include ceramics\, paintings\, prints\, Chautauqua-themed trinkets\, pieces made of up-cycled materials\, homemade soaps\, hand-dyed silk clothing\, organic cosmetics\, embellished handbags and fine jewelry. SUMMARY:Rev. Robert W. Henderson
DESCRIPTION:In 2008\, The Rev. Robert W. Henderson was installed as the sixth senior minister and head of staff at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte\, N.C. A respected pastor\, preacher\, and leader\, Henderson is known for cultivating congregational vitality and meaningful community engagement. His ministry focuses on the centrality of worship\, pastoral care\, and vibrant mission programs.   \nBoth personally and through leading his congregation\, Henderson continues his active involvement in uplifting local and international communities. Within recent years\, his congregation has invested more than 6 million dollars in affordable housing projects. In Greensboro\, N.C.\, they initiated an innovative partnership with an underprivileged neighborhood.  \nDirectly at Covenant Presbyterian Church\, Henderson’s congregation opened a need-based child development center. The church is also home to a unique pastoral residency program for seminary graduates. Henderson enjoys seeing people grow in their personal faith and has particularly witnessed this through organizing and participating in mission trips in places such as Appalachia\, Nablus\, Bethlehem\, Kenya\, Haiti\, and Mexico.  \nIn addition to his work with the Covenant Presbyterian Church\, Henderson has been leading renewal conferences for large church pastors. He is also actively involved at Davidson College serving on the board of trustees and presidential search committee.   \nFrom 1993 to 2008\, Henderson served as senior pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greensboro\, N.C. In Stone Mountain\, Ga. he was associate pastor of Eastminster Presbyterian Church from 1988-1993.  \nHenderson received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary\, Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary\, and Bachelor of Arts in economics and religion from Furman University.

SUMMARY:Noah Falck and Sunita Puri
DESCRIPTION:Chautauqua Writers’ Center Faculty Reading — Featuring Noah Falck (Poetry) and Sunita Puri (Prose) \nNoah Falck is the author of Exclusions (Tupelo Press\, 2020) which was a finalist for the Believer Book Award and the co-authored collection Prerecorded Weather (SurVision Books\, 2022) winner of the James Tate Poetry Prize. He released a limited-edition record Fatigue Performance in collaboration with artist Ariel Aberg-Riger and the band Plant Water. His poems have been published in The Kenyon Review\, Literary Hub\, Poetry Daily\, Poets.org and anthologized in Poem-a-Day: 365 Poems for Every Occasion. In 2013\, he founded the Silo City Reading Series\, an immersive\, multimedia poetry event series that takes place inside a 120-foot-high\, 100-year-old abandoned grain elevator. He works as Literary Director at Just Buffalo Literary Center and lives in Buffalo\, New York.  \nDr. Sunita Puri is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California\, Irvine School of Medicine\, where she is the Director of the Inpatient Palliative Care Service. A 2025 Literature Fellow of the Bogliasco Foundation\, she is the author of That Good Night: Life and Medicine in the Eleventh Hour\, a critically acclaimed literary memoir examining her journey to the practice of palliative medicine\, and her quest to help patients and families redefine what it means to live and die well in the face of serious illness. A graduate of Yale University and the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship\, her writing has appeared in the New Yorker\, Atlantic\, New York Times\, Los Angeles Times\, Tricycle\, Slate\, Wall Street Journal\, and the Journal of the American Medical Association\, among other places. She and her work have been featured in the Atlantic\, People Magazine\, PBS’ Christian Amanpour Show\, NPR\, the Guardian\, BBC\, India Today\, and Literary Hub. In 2019\, the Guardian made a mini-documentary of her work with her patients\, which has been viewed over 3.5 million times. She has been awarded writing residencies at the Bogliasco Foundation\, MacDowell\, Yaddo\, Hedgebrook\, Mesa Refuge\, and UCross. A sought-after speaker who has delivered lectures around the world\, Dr. Puri is passionate about the ways that the precise and compassionate use of language can empower patients and physicians to have the right conversations about living and dying.
