SUMMARY:The Rev. Zina Jacque
DESCRIPTION:The Rev. Zina Jacque serves as President and Chair of the Board of National Senior Communities\, overseeing the largest not-for-profit network of continuing-care retirement communities in the nation. Across two distinguished careers in higher education and ministry\, she has worked to lift people\, strengthen communities\, and send good into the world. She continues to guide nonprofit boards and faith-based organizations nationwide. \nFor two decades\, Jacque shaped the student experience at several leading universities. After transitioning to ministry\, Jacque’s pastoral path has taken her from small urban parishes to historic pulpits\, notably as the lead minister for the Villages of Alfred Street at the renowned Alfred Street Baptist Church. \nExtending her service well beyond church walls\, Jacque was the first executive director of the Boston Ten Point Coalition — a violence reduction initiative credited with nearly two homicide-free years among Boston’s youth under 21. Later\, she founded the Pastoral Counseling Center at Trinity Church Boston. Jacque also co-founded Courageous Conversations\, a national dialogue series fostering belonging and understanding in a polarized age. \nJacque’s impact has been recognized with numerous honors\, including the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Boston University School of Theology\, the 2022 Citizen of the Year Award from Barrington\, Ill. and the Women of Distinction Award from the Barrington Chamber of Commerce. Jacque’s most recent work\, “A Sacred Pause\,” is a collection of meditations\, journals\, and reflections which has drawn a growing online following for its mix of stillness\, wisdom\, and grace. \nJacque holds a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University\, Master of Arts from Columbia University\, Master of Divinity and Ph.D. in Theology from Boston University.
