Wendell Rosa
Wendell Rosa is a double bassist who aims to balance artistry and technique. He believes that knowing himself as a human being and learning about the connection between body and mind will allow him to achieve the heart of his audience.
Wendell is currently a Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Diversity Fellow since August 2023. His duties include numerous performances with the CSO in classical subscription, pops, film, educational, and outreach programs.
In the spring of 2023, Wendell had the honor of obtaining a Master’s Degree in Music Performance at The University of Southern Mississippi.
During the 2022-2023 season, Wendell was part of the bass section of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra and Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra and was the principal bass in the USM Symphony Orchestra.
In 2022, he won first place in the Mississippi MTNA solo competition. As a soloist, he performed Concerto No.2 for Double Bass by Giovanni Bottesini with the Esteio Municipal Orchestra in Brazil.
He has performed in master classes with Joel Quarrington, Alberto Botini, Petru Iuga, and Luiz Cabrera.
