Air Quality Update for the Chautauqua Community
Smoke from wildfires in Canada is affecting air quality across portions of our region, including Chautauqua. Conditions may change throughout the day, and we are closely monitoring local air quality to help our community stay informed.
At this time, lectures, performances and other major programs are continuing as scheduled. While most activities are expected to proceed as planned, some outdoor programs may be relocated, modified or canceled if conditions warrant. Any program changes will be shared with the community as quickly as possible.
To support patrons, staff and residents, a limited supply of masks is available at the following locations:
- Colonnade Lobby
- Main Gate Information Desk
- Visitor Center
- Chautauqua Bookstore
- Smith Memorial Library
- Athenaeum Hotel Front Desk
- Turner Community Center Fitness Desk
- Alumni Hall
- Octagon Building
As we respond to changing conditions, there may be occasional delays in some services as staff work support operations across the grounds. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
This will serve as Chautauqua Institution’s central source for updates related to air quality and any resulting impacts on programs, services or facilities. We will update this page as conditions change so that patrons have access to the most current information available.
