Auditions for the 2022 Summer Conservatory are now CLOSED.
2023 Summer Season application will open in the Fall of 2022.
Founded by Michael Kahn 30 years ago and now under the leadership of Artistic Director Andrew Borba, the Acting Conservatory is comprised of the best young emerging artists from all over the country and is considered one of the premier summer training ensembles in America. In light of COVID-19 restrictions we are weighing all of our options and if possible, we will invite a conservatory of actors onto the Chautauqua grounds this summer. If we are unable to do so, we will continue with our highly successful virtual Conservatory.
Who should apply?
The acting conservatory is drawn from a wide pool of applicants, from those who are currently enrolled in graduate and undergraduate training programs, to those who have recently graduated. Past Conservatory companies have run the gamut from undergraduates in their early 20’s through graduate and post-graduates in their early 30’s. Although exceptions are occasionally made, we ask that you be at least 20 years old at the time of the audition.
We strongly value and practice diversity and all roles are open to ALL ETHNICITIES.
