Children’s Beach, Pier Beach, Heinz Beach and Club Lake Access Updates
Unless otherwise noted here, beaches are open, and there are no known concerns with lake water quality.

Heinz and Pier Beaches are closed due to a harmful algal bloom (HAB). In partnership with the Chautauqua County Department of Health, we are monitoring lake conditions and will open when it is safe to do so.
July 12, 2026
Pier has been cleared for swimming. Heinz is on a partial closure for 30 minutes while we monitor lake condition due to a potential HAB at the break wall. The deep section is open for swimming at this time.

Pier Beach is closed due to harmful algal bloom (HAB) activity. In partnership with the Chautauqua County Department of Health, we are monitoring lake conditions and will open when it is safe to do so. I will send a notice when we are cleared to open Pier Beach for swimming. Children’s and Heinz remain open at this time.

Pier Beach is closed due to harmful algal bloom (HAB) activity. In partnership with the Chautauqua County Department of Health, we are monitoring lake conditions and will open when it is safe to do so. I will send a notice when we are cleared to open Pier Beach for swimming. Children’s and Heinz remain open at this time.

Pier and Children’s Beach are cleared to open at 12 p.m. today for swimming. As weather and water conditions allow, they will remain open until 6 p.m. today. As of this morning, there is still HAB activity at Heinz. We are monitoring the condition closely with our partners at the Chautauqua County Department of Health and will send an update when conditions change.
Swimming at Boys’ and Girls’ Club will resume today with a partial opening of the waterfront.
Update: Heinz Beach has been cleared to open for swimming today at 12 p.m.

All public swimming beaches and swimming at Boys’ and Girls’ Club are closed due to harmful algal bloom (HAB) activity. In partnership with the Chautauqua County Department of Health, we are monitoring lake conditions and will open when it is safe to do so. For Children’s, Pier and Heinz Beach this will be no earlier than 12 p.m., July 8.
