The Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra performs on the Reg Lenna stage for the first time with the spectacular Michael Cavanaugh in The Music of Billy Joel under the baton of CSO Principal Pops Conductor Stuart Chafetz! Michael was handpicked by Billy Joel to star in the hit Broadway musical Movin’ Out, for which he received both Tony and Grammy nominations in the lead role. Billboard has called him “The New Voice of the American Rock and Roll Songbook.” This show features hits like “My Life”, “Movin’ Out”, “Just the Way You Are” and “River of Dreams,” interspersed with Michael’s anecdotes of his time on Broadway and meeting Billy Joel.

Chautauqua Institution is pleased to partner with the National Comedy Center and WNED as we celebrate the life and career of Chautauqua community member and renowned comedian Mark Russell at the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY. The reception will be hosted by Lewis Black and Ali Russell from 5 to 7 p.m. with a dedication and brief remarks at 6 p.m.

We are offering shuttle buses to the National Comedy Center and the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts for these events. You can attend one or both events and shuttle to and from Chautauqua! If attending both events, you will board at 4:15 p.m. from Chautauqua and then leave from the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts immediately after the Orchestra performance.
