About Michael

Michael is the video and audio producing director for Chautauqua Institution. His primary responsibilities include acting as a live and post-production A/V technician, producer/director and team member for various types of short-form and full-form media content, and collection of information, research, development, support, and maintenance of live and post-production systems.

Michael obtained his bachelor’s degree from SUNY at Fredonia and his master’s of arts degree from Houghton College. Interests of study include computer programming, sound design, post-production audio, audio engineering, film studies, and 3D design and animation. He has been published through the Audio Engineering Society, of which he is also a proud member. Before joining Chautauqua Institution full-time, Michael worked seasonally at the Institution as a sound engineer for the Cohen Recording Studio and as a technical director for CHQ Assembly. He has also worked as a freelance video editor, livestream broadcast engineer, sound Technician, worship media director, and collegiate assistantships. Michael loves to learn and complete professional development opportunities. He holds several Shure, Calrec, RTS, and Audinate certifications ranging from live and acoustic audio to digital and Audio over IP standards.

Why did you choose to work at Chautauqua? What do you like about working at Chautauqua?

I chose to work at Chautauqua because of the growing connections I’ve made with the other employees each year. My favorite part about working at Chautauqua is the great relationships I have with my coworkers and supervisors.
