Ticket Refund Policies

Gate Pass Refund Policy
Long-term tickets (gate passes that span 24 hours or more) will be refunded to the original form of payment until the start of the Summer Assembly season.
Please note: Pre-season Partial refund requests and/or exchanges will be subject to current pricing. For example, if a patron purchases a gate pass at the earliest rate, then makes an exchange after our first scheduled price increase, the new pass will be sold at current pricing (and patron will be responsible for the monetary difference).

Single Ticket Refund Policy
Single-event tickets to lectures, opera, theater, concerts, and other events are non-refundable. If a performance or lecture is cancelled, full refunds will be issued for the ticket price, processing fees and any parking purchased in association with the single ticket order. If an event is rescheduled or a comparable substitution is made, we will reach out to patrons to provide additional options.
Tickets and registration fees collected by or on behalf of a third party are subject to the third-party refund policy and cannot be refunded nor exchanged by Chautauqua Institution.

Day Tickets
Day tickets or afternoon tickets may be exchanged for another pass of equal or greater value as long as the change is made prior to the ticket start date (Concerts or Featured Event Tickets excluded). Patron will be responsible for any balance due during the exchange process. No exchanges can be made on expired tickets.

High-Capacity Amphitheater Event Policy
On days when a concert or special event is likely to reach high capacity (or sell out), we may restrict the purchase of day/partial-day tickets to our daily visitors. This policy also limits the purchase of long-term gate passes to those who have secured on-grounds accommodations. Proof of on-grounds accommodations will be required when purchasing tickets for these dates.

Order Processing Fees

Fees related to placing your order:
– Order Online: $0
– By Phone: $10 (includes choice of delivery)
– In-person: $0
Fees related to receiving your order:
– Digital/Print@Home: $0
– Mailed to you: $5
– Held for Will Call Pick-up: $10

Facility Fee

A $5 Facility Fee is included in the advertised price of single tickets for our Morning Lecture, Evening Amphitheater, and select Theater/Opera events. A $10 Facility Fee is included in the advertised price of single tickets for all Evening Amphitheater shows outside of the summer assembly season.
This fee contributes to expenses associated with venue operations and ongoing maintenance.

Ticket Replacement Policy

Any ticket that is lost, stolen or misplaced will be replaced for a non-refundable fee.

• Gate, parking: $10 fee
• Single theater/opera tickets: $2 per ticket
• Single tickets (i.e. day, evening) are non-refundable and non-replaceable.
• Theater/opera tickets will be refunded ONLY with corresponding long-term ticket refund requests.
