Chautauqua Connections
The Chautauqua Connections Program seeks to enhance the student or early-career artist support system by linking them with a host individual or family in the Chautauqua community. The experience is different for every student or early-career artist and CHQ connection host, but connections hosts may provide occasional invitations to meals, use of a washing machine, a place to hang out, and be your own special fan at performances.
Students or early-career artists report the experience as “enriching” and “a wonderful way to be a part of the community at CHQ.” Information about the Connections Program and being matched with hosts is sent out to enrolled students in the spring.
Connections by Program
School of Dance
The Chautauqua Connections program in Dance creates connections with Festival and Pre-Professional dancers. Dancers (usually in pairs) are connected with CHQ Connections hosts who provide non-financial support, such as a home-cooked meal, a batch of cookies, or a listening ear. Theater Conservatory
Through Friends of Chautauqua Theater, Connections provides a home away from home for CTC Conservatory and Fellows during their summer at Chautauqua. Chautauqua families welcome their Connections with home cooked meals, excursions to local attractions and porches to relax on. These summer connections often result in long term friendships that continue well beyond the season with reunions in other cities as we follow the careers of our alumni.

Opera Company
