Day 4

Day 5

A Local Legacy

Begin your day with a trip to Konko Village for a traditional welcome ceremony, offering a unique glimpse into village life and a chance to interact with students and teachers. Continue to the Barbara E. Alexander Memorial Library. Opened in 2018 by Kwame, this library and health clinic were established as part of LEAP for Ghana, a cultural literacy program he co-founded.  Enjoy a delightful meal at a Koforidua dining institution. Then travel southwest approximately 4 hours to Cape Coast, taking you through mountainous terrain, lush greenery, and coastline to check in this evening to the Lemon Beach Resort in Elmina.

Day 6

The Natural Beauty of Kakum

Spend the morning at Kakum National Park, a lush tropical rainforest renowned for its rich biodiversity and stunning canopy walkway. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including forest elephants, monkeys, and various bird species, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore one of West Africa’s most important natural reserves. Return to your hotel in Elmina for a relaxing afternoon including dinner with live music at the resort.

Day 7

Cape Coast Castle

This morning takes you to Cape Coast Castle, a historic fort that played a central role in the transatlantic slave trade. Lunch at a beachside resort where you can soak in the ocean views and enjoy fresh local dishes. Then, return to Accra (approximately 3 hours) and check back into Mövenpick Hotel. Farewell Ghana
