Every summer, Chautauqua Institution’s Schools of Performing & Visual Arts bring some of the world’s most talented musicians, dancers, theater artists and visual artists to the grounds for educational and performance opportunities amid our world-class culture and arts environment.
School of Music
The School of Music enrolls 125+ students each summer, including the Piano Program, Opera Conservatory, and Instrumental Program (with Conducting Fellow.)
School of Dance
The Chautauqua School of Dance, under the direction of Sasha Janes, is well known for the unique opportunity it affords students to study with master teachers within a small studio environment.
Theater Conservatory
Chautauqua Theater Company is committed to developing the next generation of theater artists. The heart of CTC’s educational programming is the Conservatory. We bring together top emerging theater artists from around the country for hands-on training and work experience helping to bridge the gap between artist training and professional careers.
School of Art
The Chautauqua School of Art, serving students and emerging artists, is an incubator of inclusive and expansive programming in the visual arts composed of classes, workshops and one-on-one time with mentors covering all media.
Chautauqua Connections
The Chautauqua Connections Program seeks to enhance the student or early-career artist support system by linking them with a CHQ individual or family.
