Family Scholarship Program
The Family Scholarship Program is designed to make a Chautauqua experience accessible to families who might not otherwise be able to attend. Selected families receive support to participate in a fully immersive, one‑week residency during the Chautauqua Summer Assembly, engaging in educational, cultural, and community programming together.
Scholarship awards are determined in the spring following a careful review of both programmatic interest and financial need, as outlined in the application. Families selected for a scholarship will be notified in advance of the season and invited to begin planning their Chautauqua experience.
Approximately one month before the opening of the Chautauqua season, each awarded family will submit a final schedule of activities, choosing from the current season’s rich array of lectures, performances, classes, youth programs, and recreational opportunities. This planning step helps ensure that every family’s week at Chautauqua is meaningful, engaging, and well‑suited to their interests and needs.
Families of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Whether you are seeking a shared learning experience, time for reflection and connection, or a memorable week of discovery together, the Family Scholarship Program offers an opportunity to become part of the Chautauqua community.
How to Apply
All applications are due by April 20, 2026.
We look forward to welcoming new families to Chautauqua and sharing in a summer experience rooted in learning, dialogue, and community.
